We are all coming out of a pandemic-forced retreat from our world. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter, but for many of us, our inner resources to keep moving forward have been depleted. And yet there is something powerful here, because while we’ve all been on separate paths, we’ve also been together in the turmoil and loss that COVID-19 has brought so many of us. 

The wisdom traditions of the world tell us that when we go through turmoil and loss, it is important to allow time for reflection and ritual to help prepare us for an emotionally and spiritually healthy return. 

Rabbi Julie Hilton Danan, Ph.D., will lead us in an evening of taking stock of how and where our lives have changed, guiding us through rituals that will allow us to experience those changes, and guide us in spiritual preparation to help us move from the narrow places of the past year to the wide open spaces of the future. Together, we will create a soulful, intentional path that builds resilience from what we’ve experienced while generating meaning to allow us to gain wisdom from our journey. Like the ancient Israelites who wandered in the desert, we will discover the gift of our wanderings and create our own reminders of the lessons and intentions that we want to take into the “promised land” ahead. 

Rabbi Julie specializes in making Jewish teachings and tools available to people of all faiths and outlooks, and you don’t have to be Jewish or religious to benefit from this ancient wisdom modernized for today’s world.
