Mindfulness is a term that has woven its way into myriad facets of our culture from meditation to mindful business. Conscious Leadership now follows close on the heels of new definitions of leadership–but what does being a Conscious Leader even mean? What are the measures of success? And how will these shifts affect business and the world?

Founder Matt Ludmer sits down with Aligned Center teacher and author, Steve McIntosh, to discuss his latest book, Conscious Leadership: Elevating Humanity Through Business (Penguin/Portfolio, 2020), coauthored with Whole Foods co-founder John Mackey and author Carter Phipps. The book details how an organization’s potential is constrained by the capacities of its leaders. One of the best ways to improve an organization is therefore to evolve the personal and professional capacities of those who lead it. Steve will share anecdotes, case studies, profiles of conscious leaders, and the innovative techniques for self-development that would-be conscious leaders can employ.

In each of our Aligned Living Conversations, Matt hosts a prominent thought leader in one of the four dimensions of Aligned Living: Mind-Body Awareness, Work & Wealth Abundance, Heartfelt Community and the Knowledge of Systems. Join us for a deep dive into paradigm-shifting ideas and practices that not only offer exciting perspectives, but uncover new possibilities in awareness, connection and success. This is what we call Aligned Living.

STEVE MCINTOSH, J.D., is president and cofounder of the Institute for Cultural Evolution think tank. He is author of the recent book: Developmental Politics—How America Can Grow Into a Better Version of Itself (Paragon House 2020), and coauthor of: Conscious Leadership—Elevating Humanity Through Business (Penguin 2020), with John Mackey and Carter Phipps. McIntosh is also author of three previous books on integral philosophy.

Before becoming a writer and social entrepreneur, he had a variety of other successful careers, including founding the consumer products company Now & Zen, and practicing law with one of America’s largest firms. His innovative political thinking has been featured on NPR, USA Today, The Daily Beast, Real Clear Politics, The Hill, and in a wide variety of other media. McIntosh is a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School, and the University of Southern California Business School. His author website is: www.stevemcintosh.com.
