Please save the date for this special event with the Venerable Changling Rinpoche.

We are delighted to announce that the Westchester Buddhist Center will have the honor of hosting a special guest, Venerable Changling Rinpoche, here at The Aligned Center on August 3rd! Rinpoche is Abbot of Shechen Monastery in Nepal, the seat of the previous Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, where he teaches 3-year retreatants and other senior practitioners. Rinpoche also teaches throughout Asia and in North America, and directs the Lotus Speech Organization’s many dharma communities in Canada and Australia.

The Venerable Changling Rinpoche will teach on Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s seminal work, Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism, first published in 1972 and targeted specifically to westerners. It provides a rich overview of the Buddhist path—which from start to finish involves seeing through ego’s attempt to use the spiritual journey for its own benefit. According to Changling Rinpoche, Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism “…is the teaching for this century,” containing “the full practice of accumulating virtue and wisdom for overcoming one’s own ego clinging.”

On Sunday August 4th Rinpoche will meet with members of the Westchester Buddhist Center at The Aligned Center and teach on Chögyam Trungpa and the Sadhana of Mahamudra. If you have received Vajrayana transmission in the Kagyu or Nyingma lineage and would like to attend these teachings, please contact the Westchester Buddhist Center with the name of your Vajrayana teacher and the date of the transmission.
