Kathak is a classical North Indian style of traditional dance that explores the union of ancient tales and dynamic rhythmic patterns. Kathak dancer and storyteller, Anjali Nath, along with guest artists, Beth Bahia Cohen and Jim Santi Owen, share their rich classical tradition and the universal language of rhythm and melody. This unique series will explore The Art of Kathak and its various facets. Three interactive sessions  include:

  • North and South Indian percussions
  • Exlporing the intersection of Indian classical music and dance with bowed string traditions across many cultures
  • A Meditation in Motion, which delves into the unique Kathak Yoga innovation created by master Kathak legend, the Late Pandit Chitresh Das
