This free event will focus on a remarkable essay, The Mystic as Creative Artist, by the Christian mystic Evelyn Underhill. In her essay, Underhill describes what she sees as the necessary second half of the mystical journey: the return from Divine Union back to the world.This return trip allows the realizer to share the fruits of vision and wisdom that they discovered. The sublime realities of deep spiritual revelation cannot be easily communicated, but they can be alluded to through the artistic use of suggestive imagery and metaphor.

In this exploration, which will be held live at The Aligned Center and streamed online via Zoom video conferencing, you will explore how inner revelations can be shared and how a path to higher possibilities has been mapped through centuries of mystical discovery. As you see how spiritual truths have been shared in art, poetry and literature, you will find confirmation of your own deepest realizations that show that your inner journey lies along a path that has been defined by great realizers of the past.
