Mining for Gold: Writing Workshop to Find Your Essential Story

October 28, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Woman writes in journal with cup of tea

Each of us has known wild acts of bravery, peace in the face of adversity and the discovery of unexpected courage. We have also known moments when fear felt bigger than our actions or when we didn’t trust a gut instinct. And who hasn’t lived through a head-spinning mix of both (the last year and a half anyone)?

Our lives are filled with gold if we take time to notice, honor our lived wisdom and write vital stories into being. But the terrain of personal narrative is much broader and more layered than we expect when we begin to write. The story that seeks to be told often lives just beyond familiar territory and we are called to venture into unexpected places.

Award-winning author and book coach Kristin Kaye has been to these places with many people many times and, be they are writers, journalers or everyday seekers, they always return with gold.

These tales not only hold healing for ourselves, but can become a remedy for others, too.

The world needs your remedy.

This writing workshop offers:

  • meditation to quiet the mind to see old stories with new eyes
  • tools and practices to survey your life to discover nuggets of insight
  • writing time with simple exercises to get the flow going
  • reading your pages if you are so inspired
  • generative exploration that will leave you with loads of raw material that can become the narrative building blocks for writing projects

Prepare to excavate familiar personal stories to unearth unexpected perspectives and valuable material for your memoir, personal essay or work of literary non-fiction. This workshop is equally helpful for journal writing, too.

Writers of all ages and skill levels welcome.
