On Sunday mornings, the Westchester Meditation Center is hosting community gatherings involving meditation practice, discussion, and readings from The Wisdom of No Escape, and the Path of Loving-Kindness by Pema Chodron.
When life’s events challenge us, we search for ways to change or improve our circumstances. Yet we find difficult life events occur over and over again, bringing the same feelings and frustrations. Meditation helps us discover that while we will never be able to completely control our world, we can train our minds to meet and accept life just as it is, in the present moment.
Pema Chodron’s book is about welcoming life in all its manifestations—embracing the joy, suffering, wisdom and confusion that is the human experience. Meditation guides us to meet our mind, embrace the fullness of our experience, and live a wholehearted life.
At each gathering, you will practice for two sessions with walking meditation in between, share an inspiring reading, and have a group discussion.
